things that i don't understand

I just don't get:
The excitement of the Twilight movies.

Stealing from others.

Hatred of other religions.

Adopting an animal only to neglect or abuse it.

Not wanting to help others.

The appeal of sunbathing.

The Jerry Springer Show.

People that get upset over another person being vegetarian/vegan.

People that enjoy washing dishes.

Those that couldn't fall in love with a puppy.

Getting messy drunk.

People that don't enjoy the outdoors.

Going to the store on Black Friday.

Needing the newest/best/most technologically advanced products out there.

Not liking pumpkin desserts.

There are plenty more things I don't understand, but these are the ones that are on my mind right now.

tuesday state of mind

So much on my mind but it is such a tangled ball of yarn, I'll have to be careful around cats today.

I won't bore you with the minutiae of each twist and turn (like that one, Jim?) but my head is filled with goals and house buying
and animal rescuing
and career building
and exercising
and exploring
and arts and crafting
and home redecorating
and all sorts of packing
and various other "-ings" and things.

Sometimes life and so full, it overflows.
And it is good
and brilliant
and joyful.
Even when its a bowl of spaghetti.
With a soy meatless ball on top.

...and this is the tune that's been in my head:

and oddly this one too:

i don't wanna, i don't think so

Sometimes songs pop into my head that I have not heard in years. This is what is in it now, Sonic Youth's Kool Thing. Brings back memories from the past. Good ones with good people. A past era in my life. It is nice to reminisce, but I am glad to be in the present.

When you're a star, I know you'll fix everything.

inxs...is just the right amount

Monday morning music.
I love the way music affects the mood.
It can conjure feelings of nostalgia, joy, sadness, pure energy, etc. For me, listening to bands from my youth and beyond always makes me happy, even if the song is gut-wrenchingly depressing.

one-third life crisis

I think I am having a one-third life crisis.

Lately, I have been obsessing over changing my hair color (okay, I've been doing this since 16 years old, but, whatever), working a job strictly for a kick-ass salary so I can live a lavish life, getting tattoos, getting a boob job and buying a motorcycle.

Or perhaps it is just the food coloring in the Italian ices affecting my noggin.

i always kind of thought...

...Micheal Jackson was recreating himself as a Gelfling.

Just a thought. I'm just saying.

i question YOUR consumerism

Driving home the other night, I spotted a bumper sticker that said simply, "Question Consumerism". I wanted to wave the drive down and ask him, "So, why DID you buy that bumper sticker?"

what's the meaning of this?

I love warning signs. Of course, the way my mind works in strange ways so I see things like picture 2: "Warning! Child labor prohibited" and 7 "Flock of Seagulls not allowed". I have a "create your own meanings" set on flickr. Go be creative and...um....make your own meanings. Go on. Amuse me.
